Most, if not all of their technicians will only try one solution at a time, (a poor & quick solution at that.) after days of waiting, only for the problem to still be happening, forcing you to call them again, only to be met by someone who speaks broken English and refuses to even pretend to care & tells you they'll send another "technician" out in another 5 days. I literally have no good things to say about them, even being as nice as I can, I CANNOT say anything good about this horrible business. Poor service is one thing, but lack of Internet for days at a time, random disconnecting, upload being throttled, never receiving the speeds you pay for (on a wired connection, I know wireless speeds are never guaranteed.) & by far, the worst customer service I've ever had the misfortune of dealing with are all traits that describe Mediacom. We recommend checking out the TP-Link model AC1750, available on Amazon, which works as both a modem and a Wi-Fi router. If you’d like to avoid that fee (and who wouldn’t, honestly), then you can buy your own modem or mesh Wi-Fi system. Xtream Wi-Fi 360 mesh system rental fee: Free for the first 3 months, $5.00 a month after that.Right now, Mediacom lets you rent the Xtream Wi-Fi mesh system for free for three months, after that it's only $5.00 a month. This is a good option for larger homes or anyone who has trouble getting their Wi-Fi to reach every corner of the house. Now you just need a modem, which you can rent from Mediacom for $12.99 a month or buy outright for almost $200. (We wouldn't advise that, since you can probably buy your own router for much less.)Īlong with a modem, Mediacom also offers its own Xtream Wi-Fi 360 mesh system.
